O1 (Outdoor 1) Scenario

O1 scenario

  • An outdoor scenario of two streets and one intersection
  • 18 base stations and more than a million candidate users!
  • Datasets are available at operating frequencies 3.4 GHz, 3.5 GHz, 28 GHz, and 60 GHz

Key components

  • 18 base stations (BSs): BS1-BS18. The height of all BSs is 6 m.
  • Each antenna array element at each BS is an isotropic antenna
  • The main street has 12 BSs (BS1-BS12), 6 on each side.
  • The BSs on one side of the main street are separated by 52 m from the BSs on the other side.
  • 100 m separation between
    • BS1, BS3, and BS5
    • BS2, BS4, and BS6
    • BS7, BS9, and BS11
    • BS8, BS10, and BS12
  • 62 m separation between
    • BS6 and BS8
    • BS5, and BS7
  • BS13-BS18 are mainly covering the second street, 3 on each side.
  • 150 m separation between
    • BS13, BS15, and BS17
    • BS14, BS16, and BS18
  • 52 m separation between
    • BS13 and BS14
    • BS15 and BS16
    • BS17 and BS18
  • Three uniform x-y user grids (UGs): UG1, UG2, and UG3.
  • Total number of users = 1,184,923 users
  • The first user in every user grid is always the user with the lowest (x,y) coordinate
  • The height of all user grids is 2 m
  • Each antenna array element at each user is an isotropic antenna
  • First user grid (UG1)
    • Distributed on the main street (the horizontal one) with a length of 550 m and width of 35 m
    • Starts from the right on Figure 1 after 15m of the street starting point
    • Ends on the left of Figure 1 before the street ending point
    • Accessed from Row 1 to Row 2751 (2751 rows in total)
    • 181 users per row (181 users with the same y coordinate)
    • 20 cm spacing between adjacent users
    • Number of users in UG1 = 497,931 users
  • Second user grid (UG2)
    • Distributed on the southern side of the cross street (the vertical street) as shown in Figure 1
    • Accessed from Row 2752 to Row 3852 (1101 rows in total)
    • 181 users per row (181 users with the same y coordinate)
    • 20 cm spacing between adjacent users
    • Number of users in UG2 = 199,281 users
  • Third user grid (UG3)
    • Distributed on the second cross street (the vertical street on the left side of Figure 2)
    • Accessed from Row 3853 to Row 5203 (1351 rows in total)
    • 361 users per row (361 users with the same y coordinate)
    • 10 cm spacing between adjacent users
    • Number of users in UG3 = 487,711 users
  • The main street (the horizontal one) is 600 m long and 40 m wide
  • the cross street (the vertical one) is 440 m long and 40 m wide
  • The two streets have buildings on both sides
  • The height of every building is written on it in Figure 1
  • Along the main street, all the buildings have bases of the same dimensions, 30 m x 60 m
  • In the second street, the buildings have bases of 60 m x 60 m
  • As for the propagation model, each channel path can undergo a maximum of 4 reflections before reaching the receiver.
