Indoor Scenario (DeepMIMOv3)

Indoor scenario

  • An indoor scenario depicting a 34 m x 30 m office area
  • Two base stations and 25,821 users are available
  • The BS1 has two separate sets of antenna for transmit and receive, respectively
  • The User Grid 1 covers the entire office area
  • Dataset is available at operating frequency 28 GHz

Note: This scenario is based on the Boston 5G model developed by Remcom

Key components

  • 2 base stations (BSs): BS1 and BS3. The height of all BSs is 3 m.
  • Each antenna array element at the BSs is an isotropic antenna
  • BS1 is placed in the top-left of the scenario, it has two separate sets of antennas. The two sets of antennas are indexed as “BS1” and “BS2” in DeepMIMO. The two sets of antennas can be used as the separate transmit and receive antennas of BS1
  • BS3 is placed in the bottom-right of the scenario
  • One uniform x-y user grid (UG1) that covers the entire office area
  • The spacing of the user grid is 20 cm, the height of the user grid is 1 m
  • Total number of users = 25,821 users, the users can be accessed from Row 1 to Row 151, with 171 user per row
  • The first user in every user grid is always the user with the lowest (x,y) coordinate
  • Each antenna array element at each user is an isotropic antenna
  • The site depicts a 34 m x 30 m office area
  • The ray-tracing angle spacing is 0.25° (degree)
  • As for the propagation model, each path can undergo a maximum of 6 reflections and 1 diffractions before reaching the receiver

Note

The maximum number of reflections along each propagation path is set to 4 in the ray tracing simulation.
Under this configuration, some users in the scenario do not have any propagation path with the base stations.
